The representation of the Christian Nativity, Crib is one of the most important moments of the whole catholic iconography. Traditionally every year Crib are prepared everywhere in Italy and especially in many private houses, that has made Crib the most familiar and popular representation of the Nativity events from Gospels. Because the biggest part of the Catholics has tried at least once in the life the preparation of Crib, as consequent in last years, the content of Crib assumed the variety of different shapes and interpretations, dimensions and materials they are made from. Often the Crib is characterized with the local particularities of the region and with the tradition of the people which live there. |
